Local Information
We have included some information on the local areas in which we operate. We hope that you find this useful and would be interested to hear of any other information that you think would be of interest to you.
Local Authorities
The majority of the area in which No-Flies operates falls within the London Borough of Southwark, with small areas also potentially in the London Borough of Lambeth. The websites of these London Boroughs provide a good deal of useful information and can be accessed here:
Transport
The area has the benefit of a range of transport options. There are a wide range of bus services connecting the area to most parts of central London and there are a number of railway stations that connect it to to many of the southern London mainline stations and indeed (with the introduction of Thameslink services and the new London Overground system) also stations such as King’s Cross St. Pancras and Farringdon.
Schools
The local area is well served by a range of both state and independent schools.
The OFSTED website provides a useful search tool allowing you to locate the latest school reports for schools within a specified distance of any postcode. This can be accessed here.
Dulwich and its surrounding areas is also famous for its range of independent schools which offer schooling from pre-prep up to A levels. Details of the independent schools in the area can be found at the Independent Schools Council website – click here to visit the site.
Arts & Culture
You are, of course, in this area within a short bus or train ride of the vast array of museums, galleries and theatres on offer in central London. However, there are also exciting and prestigious cultural options closer to home. Both the Horniman Museum and the Dulwich Picture Gallery made the shortlist of ten for the Art Fund Prize for Museum of the Year 2013, the largest UK arts prize at £100,000.

The best of mainstream and arthouse film making is also available locally without the need to travel into central London. For details of local cinemas click here.
Not least because of the presence of the world renowned Camberwell College of Arts in the area, Southwark has a strong reputation in the visual arts and details of local galleries and art spaces can be found here.
